About

Educer is written by Jeremy Felt.

The name originally came to me when I was trying to think of something good for this open source education portal I had in mind where everybody contributed to course material in exchange for others’ expertise. I registered the domain immediately, then looked up and saw that Wikibooks had already been created.

Instead, it turned into a blog. A blog which I payed little attention to for a lot of time. But now that I feel a need to speak up more, it is there. And the name makes much more sense than the previous blogs, RambleWords or RambleBlog. :)

I like learning things and I like doing things. I’ve always enjoyed solving problems and now I create things by solving problems by code.

Sometimes I take an approach to coding that gets me to the first end point before I look back and see what I missed.

Sometimes this is good. Sometimes this is bad.

Whichever it is at any time, it’s fun. I type away and make mistakes and learn something with every one. I ship little projects and will someday ship a big project and the entire time I’ll try to have fun.

Right now I’m a PHPer and a MySQLer, but I’ll be a Pythoner soon enough and other database structures fascinate me. Of course, that’s just the plan for now. You never know when I’ll wander over to something else because it looks like fun.

The current project I’m spending the majority of my free night times on is MyStatusCloud. You should check it out because it is a ton of fun and a great way to try out the push technology from RSSCloud and PubSubHubBub.
